Life Lately

Hello Friends!

The end of the school year is closing just like any other- with a flurry of activity and events! I’m so looking forward to summer, some fun trips planned, lots of sleep and working out hopefully! I’d love to get back on track with regularly working out, grading has taken a bit of a priority lately as I only have a few days left with my seniors.

So here is a quick view into what has been going on in the last few weeks.

I had our apartment handyman put up some shoe shelves for me, and my Type-A heart is so happy. I can see them all so I know what I haven’t work recently, and it’s wicked easy to put them back as I can quickly spot an open space on the shelf.

I went with O to the farmers market a week or two back and these strawberries were out of this world good and so bright in color.

I chaperoned a field-trip to Chinatown in San Francisco and we got dim sum and fortune cookies. So tasty!

My family has finally figured out how to make the best chilaquiles ever! Yum.

I just got back from a whirlwind weekend in Seattle for an amazing wedding to two cuties, so that post will be coming soon. How is your week going?

Love,

-S

On my Radar for November

This month I have found so many great things, most of them oddly enough architectural or interior design. I love reading DIY blogs and HGTV, so these articles come as no surprise to me as good choices for things that … Continue reading

Fresh Picked Strawberries

On Thursday, my mum, Cathy and I went berry picking. We drove down to Gizdich Ranch, which is this charming pick your own farm in Watsonville that has tons of fruits. I have been there in the past and picked apples, but this time there were strawberries in season.

The strawberries were on the smaller side, but were juicy and full of flavor. It took all my control not to eat all of them! We picked until our hands were red and dirty, and we had picked in almost every row.

We ended up picking a ton of strawberries so that Mum could make some jam and we got a triple berry pie and gallons of fresh apple juice to take home. That pie was delicious!

Have you ever gone to a pick your own place? Any places you recommend I visit sometime?

Summer Lovin’

As much as I love my kiddos, I also realllllyyyy enjoy summer break off. This last year was particularly brutal as I barreled through working full time, night classes to finish up my Master’s, and completing my second year of … Continue reading

New Cars,Kiel James Patrick, Moleskine, and Sunflowers

On Wednesday my good friend Joey swung by the house to show off his new car. It was a sexy little white convertible, and we zoomed off to celebrate at Santana Row with some bubble tea. He was over the moon about this new beast of his.

Isn’t it pretty?

All good things come to those who wait:

I also picked up a new planner. As much as I love my little Iphone, I really do love writing things down physically. I seem to remember them better if I do, and I also love looking over the week as a whole. While I have finally figured out how to use the Iphone Calendar, I am forever making mistakes and putting events on the wrong day/time. So for now, back to my beloved Moleskine.  I love the 18 months planner, it covers the school year and summer all wrapped in one! I started using them my first year of college and have used all used many of their different products over the years.

I stopped by the farmers market on my way home to pick up some summer fruit and flowers. Fresh flowers, and sunflowers in particular, make every day a little bit brighter, don’t you agree?

So how was your Thursday? Did you do anything fun? Do you have any plans for the upcoming long weekend?
