Friday Favorites

Hello Friends,

This is just a quick round up of things that are my wishlist as I’ve been browsing online. Happy Friday!

One.

The first one is just a cozy Jcrew sweater from their Spring line in just a cheerful color. I also like the green option they have.

Two.

These earrings are gorgeous in person. I’m not sure how comfortable they would be as they are rather large, but I’m debating these as I think they would look gorgeous with a simple black dress.

Three.

Classic everyday piece that would look great with a work appropriate WBD or a breezy striped shirt for summer.

Four.

This camel color I think works with everything, dressy black pants, comfy blue jeans on a casual Friday, or to dress up a pair of shorts.

Five.

I could see myself cozying up with this on a long flight. Looks soft and easy to pair with many shirts and sweaters. Is a great mix and match piece to throw into your suitcase for a chilly evening.

Six.

I love the scalloping edging on this. Would look great with a simple skirt or a nice summery dress. The red color is out but they still have a few choices left.

Seven.

I’ve been drawing to larger watches lately, and I like the shape of this.

Have any fun weekend plans? Like any of the above items? Let me know!

My top 4 Podcasts

podcasts

1. Serial.

This podcast is hosted by Sarah Koenig from This American Life, and investigates a different topic each season. The first season focused on a murder case from Baltimore of a young high schooler named Hae Min Lee. She investigates the case put together that accused the then ex-boyfriend Adnan Sayed, who is currently in jail on the charges. Season 2 is a totally different topic, and analyses the story and background of missing POW Bowe Bergdahl.

So I know that we are about to hear season Three from them, but I am honestly more interested in hearing how their updates from their Season 1 case is going. In case you missed my post on that, you can read my original post on Serial about it here.

2. Young House Love

This podcast is hosted by bloggers John and Sherry from the blog Young House Love.

Frankly, I love their blog the most, but their most recent adventures into podcasts have been hilarious. It really feels like I am sitting in their living room hearing these two down-to earth happily married couple talk about DIY, reno’s and their recently purchased dilapidated beach house. They are so cute, funny, and I want to be their best friend.

3. Up and Vanished

So its a great cold case podcast led by an amateur investigator Payne Lindsey.  It focuses on a high school teacher and former beauty queen named Tara Grinstead, who went missing in 2005 from her small home-town in Georgia. He is still airing current episodes as he further investigates this cold case.  I really liked this podcast, but I’ve struggled with how many ads are in it. He does not have the backing of a radio company, or a blog, instead he is an independent film-maker that is doing this on his own.

4. Accused

This podcast is hosted by a reporter from the Cincinatti Enquierer , as she investigate the unsolved murder of Elizabeth Andes in December of 1978 in her college apartment in Oxford Ohio.

So I liked the first few episodes of this podcast, and then she takes a left turn and investigates other killers, serial killers and it got a little creepy and weird for me. But overall I liked it well enough to continue listening, I just skipped over some parts as it was a little scary for me. She has announced that she will be doing a second season, on a different cold case. So when that airs I will listen to it.

Do you listen to any podcasts? Do you like them? Any I should listen to? What do you like to do when you listen to a podcast? I love them for when I’m running, doing errands cooking or doing the dishes!

Love,

MLK Weekend in Tahoe

Hello Friends

A few weekends back, I gathered as many friends as I could to enjoy the long weekend up in Tahoe. We have been drenched in the amazing amount of rain we have enjoyed in the last month or two. I love a good rainy day as much as the next gal, but I’m ready for spring and some sun!

But that weekend we had a big dump a few days before and a few days after. It was cold, but with glorious blue skies. Most people didn’t have a sturdy snow care and backed out, so it was a smaller group than expected that made the long drive up there. We relaxed a ton this weekend, eating well, watching movies, sledding and baking! It was a certain someones birthday (Ahem, Joey!!) so we celebrated by baking and eating a delicious cake.

My dad and I were talking a few days back and apparently Tahoe has gotten a record breaking 24 feet of snow in the month of January alone, which totally makes up for the last two years with basically no snow!

Love,
