Hello Friends, This post is long, but covers the last two days of our trip. 🙂 On Tuesday of our Montréal trip, we started our day with breakfast at Mamie Clafoutis again. We had tried two other bakeries as this … Continue reading
Hello Friends, The next day in Montréal was grey and drizzly. We decided to beat the rain and check out the current Chagall exhibit at the Montréal Museum of Fine Arts. It was a vibrant and large exhibit. After that … Continue reading
Recently I had a few friends over for a mid-morning tea party. I picked up some delicious snacks from Cocola Bakery, and if you haven’t been there you are missing out on some fantastic food. I tidied my apartment and pulled out all my teas. It started out as just inviting my friends Andrew and Andrea, and then we decided to invite more of our old SCU friends. It was nice to just sit and talk and relax with some foody snacks and a big mug of tea. I think everyone had fun!
Have you ever hosted or been to a Tea Party? Are you more of an avid tea drinker like I am, or do you prefer coffee?
Hello Friends, Here are a few snaps from my Instagram, which I update a little bit more often than the blog here. Feel free to follow me (@sisforSandy) to see more about what I’m up to! My amazing brother make … Continue reading
I personally really love Fall. I like all of the things that make the cold crisp mornings and start of a new season feel so much better. So without adieu, here is my welcome to Fall Bucket List!
- Explore a corn maze
- Pick out some pumpkins to decorate your house with (i love the white mini-ones!)
- Bake a pie
- Make Chili (I love my dad’s recipe!)
- Go apple picking (have a sunday planned to do that with my brother)
- Make s’mores
- Build a crackling fire and enjoy a good book
- Decorate pumpkins
- Smell cinnamon Candles at Bath & Body Works and try not to buy every Fall/Holiday candle scent
- Pull out the ol’ galoshes and splash in puddles
- Cozy up with your blankets on the couch watching the fall shows premiere ( i’m so excited for so many shows to return)
- Go for an early morning walk in the crisp foggy air
- Decorate your front door or porch with some cute fall decorations
- Start planning your halloween costume
- Start your morning with a steaming cup of tea instead of coffee
- find and devour ALL of the candy corn
I also love October because it’s my birthday month. Even without that special date, I love everything about the summer ending and a new season beginning. This year it really felt like our California summer lasted from March to well, now! I am really looking forward to pulling out my box of mittens, hats, scarfs and fuzzy socks!
How do you celebrate fall? Do you like the cooler temperatures of the upcoming weeks or do you wish summer would stick around?
On Wednesday my good friend Joey swung by the house to show off his new car. It was a sexy little white convertible, and we zoomed off to celebrate at Santana Row with some bubble tea. He was over the moon about this new beast of his.
All good things come to those who wait:
I also picked up a new planner. As much as I love my little Iphone, I really do love writing things down physically. I seem to remember them better if I do, and I also love looking over the week as a whole. While I have finally figured out how to use the Iphone Calendar, I am forever making mistakes and putting events on the wrong day/time. So for now, back to my beloved Moleskine. I love the 18 months planner, it covers the school year and summer all wrapped in one! I started using them my first year of college and have used all used many of their different products over the years.
I stopped by the farmers market on my way home to pick up some summer fruit and flowers. Fresh flowers, and sunflowers in particular, make every day a little bit brighter, don’t you agree?
So how was your Thursday? Did you do anything fun? Do you have any plans for the upcoming long weekend?
