Life Lately

Hello Friends!

This week was kinda crazy at work, but in all the best ways. It was Spirit Week, and I really had no clue how big of an event this was at our school. I am pulling together a post on it, so you will see evidence of the crazy, exciting, loud and pretty amazing Spirit Week. But here are a few small pictures of how life has been outside of school.

I went up to SF last weekend and it was a grey moody day. It was fun to pull on a hat and sweater and embrace the wintery weather.

I had gotten some movie passes for Christmas, and so a friend and I met up for dinner at Straits and then walked to the movie theatre. It was funny, had great acting, and was a total must see movie.

Picked up some new pants! I mostly wear corduroy pants to work on throwing wheel days, and skirts and dresses on other days. But I had some tired old too big pants and needed a new weekend pair. My mom and O helped me pick these out.
She was playing dress up and wore the cutest giraffe onesie. I wish they made them in my size.

I went for a long walk after school one day, when it was sunny and blue skies and it reminded me that winter will end and summer will be here soon enough.

A and I got together last week for drinks in Los Altos. We took some silly photos and had a blast on a random Friday evening.

How was your week?

Love,

Turning 28

Hello Friends, My birthday fell on a Wednesday, which was pretty exciting to liven up a midweek day. My co-workers were very sweet, and got me flowers, balloons and even a chai tea latte (they know my love of chai … Continue reading

Nantucket Day 6

Our last day on Nantucket we started out with breakfast at Fog Island Cafe.  From there my dad and I browsed a little bit in downtown where I picked up a few things. We went back to the house and packed … Continue reading

T Minus 7 Days

summer 2016

We are so close to the finish line, I can smell summer! It smells like salty beach air, windswept messy hair, sunscreen, and fresh fruit.

We started senior finals today, and have underclassman finals on Monday. Graduation is in one short week. I feel like each day is long, but the week is going by so quickly!

My students have helped me start packing up my room, and I’ve had so many interviews my head is swirling. I hope to have a decision by the end of the day! I’m both dreading and looking forward to summer. I am low on sleep and energy and my fridge/house is a bit scary! I want beach days, picnics at the park, enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. I am ready for summer! I can’t wait for a day at the beach with my friends!

Do you have any fun summer plans? Anything fun you are looking forward to?

Love,

Spring Bucket List

There’s something so refreshing about waking up to sunshine in the crisp cool mornings, afternoons with lazy sun and bright blue skies. I think California is prettiest in the spring, when the days are getting longer, and are warm but not too hot. To me, those are the days where you roll open the window and breathe in the beautiful air.

I think springtime is a good time to get organized, tidy up the ol’ closet, and pull out that bike you haven’t used in a few months. I love spending as much time outside as possible once the weather turns nice.

Anything you look forward to doing in the springtime? I love days at the beach and sunshine filled afternoons at the park.

Boston in the Summer Part 2

My father and I are great wanderers. We willingly peek our nosy noses into any delightful smelling bakery, any dusty bookshop, or a cute store-front. We are often far too willing to play tourist in well, practically any town! Boston, … Continue reading

On My Radar

Since I have summers off as a teacher, I have had tons more free time in the last few weeks. Most of it has been used wisely, such as going to the gym, seeing old friends and catching up on … Continue reading

A Week in Santa Fe

To make a long story short, I moved unexpectedly about a month earlier than planned, thus the radio silence here on the blog.

Otherwise, things have been going great! Work has been going very well, and while I am proud of all that I have done this year, I have so many ideas on how to make next year better, both as an art teacher and as a testing proctor. I have things settled enough at my new place, and just got Comcast today. Woot! The return of my internet means I can join civilization again.

Over my spring break my father and I visited an old high school friend in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I had never been, and it was a glorious week of eating tasty things, art galleries and seeing beautiful new places!

Over the week, my dad and I took a green chile cooking class, hiked a gorgeous mountain, enjoyed a fantastic little bookstore called Moby Dickens, and snarfed some delicious carrot cake!

Happy Weekend! What are you doing for your mother’s day tomorrow?
