San Francisco and a Christmas Tree Farm

My brother and I start our Thanksgiving week off right, baking a cinnamon coffee cake (a family recipe and total favourite of ours) and working in front of a crackling fire.

On Friday, my Dad, Cheech and I drove up to the city for an evening of tasty food and drinks after checking on the boat-house. Cheech had dinner plans, so it was just fun to have a father-daughter night. We started at Nopa’s for drinks, then ended up at a great French bistro called Chez Maman, and picked up Chantal Guillon Macarons for dessert.

I love the occasional night up in the city, it’s such a different pace than my day-to-day quiet work/life in Willow Glen.

The weekend after thanksgiving was a busy one! My parents have this tradition of hunting for a Christmas tree at an actual tree farm in the hills, so every year we make the trek up the windy mountains to find the perfect tree. The last few years we have joined up with the Issa Family and their extended family and friends for breakfast and an epic tree hunt. Most years it rains, and that is half the fun!

All in all, the holidays are off to a great start! Are you ready for the holidays?
